1998 legacy Wagon steering rack

I have play in the outer L/H side of the steering rack, does anyone out there know if there is a fix without replacing the rack. Is it a bushing in the end and can this be replaced? or can the play be adjusted or shimmed?

Where is the play exactly?

L/H side of rack (drivers side) If you follow the steer arm back from the rod end it is exactly where the arm enters the rack casting (housing) I guess there should be a bushing of some sort in the end which may be replaced or shimmed? Rod ends, suspension and anti roll bar all good - all usual checked.

There should be two rubber bushings holding the rack in place, are you saying they are missing? Pics would help too
