Leaking Tailgate on 1999 BH5!! What to do??

The Tailgate (back door) on my 1999 BH5 Wagon has water dripping out every time I give my car a wash!
Has happened twice now I thought it was just a one off as last time I used a water blaster so I thought I may have forced water accidentally in it making it wet.
But just the other day I washed it with a sponge and a hose and a few hours later open my boot and water drips out from the plastic bit inside!!!

I then opened up the plastic part by removing the plastic screws and found water dripping from 2 of my brake light bulbs which are buggered due to water damage.

Any ideas on how the water is getting into the tailgate (back door/boot)?
Garnish seal broken?

Any answers would be much appreciated! :)

It could be the rubber weatherstripping that is bad, or the seal around the window. It is happening on my girlfriend's Escort wagon, and I found that one of the side window seals was bad.

yeah i believe this is quite a common problem with the rear garnish on the Gen3 wagons. Check the garnish seals or look for actual cracks in the garnish itself.
