JDM Gauge Cluster Plug and Play into US?

Dumb question but does a JDM Cluster like a 01 B4 JDM plug into my BE 01 LGT? Both Auto... If so i found this little guy on a search! Curious if the gauge will read!

What's the difference between the US-spec '03-'04 Outback gauges and the J-spec ones? Except for the mph/kph difference, they look the same to me.

I was looking to get the JDM Black Faced gauge Cluster. Made me think i could just get a US clear cover tinted by a shop and have the same JDM look but not really sure on tinting plastic and how the lighting will turn out. Anyways, my clear piece is cracked so i have nothing as of now on my gauge cluster, looking for a clear peice or might consider trying to swap. WHY of WHY couldn't the JDM gauges show MPH like our US ones show KMH on the inside.

So you actually mean '02 turbo model gauge pod. '01 is what I show below. And B4 just means any sedan, turbo or otherwise.

Mine OEM Cluster shows Temp as well. Still in debate on attempting this or not wasting money on this mod.

What, really? That's cool. I have the D model "BFM" gauges and we don't have that... The temp is in the HVAC controls (which I know the '03-'04 Outback has the digital controls also).
