So I folded my tire over on it self? Some how...

So today on the high way I sum how managed to fold my tire over yeah idk. I took it to discount tire cuz I though I de-beaded it and lost air pressure or something but they said it was fine but It looked like I folded it... I managed to just fold over a properly inflated 34psi ContiExtreamContact???? Sure it an all season but it isn't your basic tire. I wasn't even turning that fast just turning on to an exit ramp at like 75, I wasn't on the exit ramp just changing lanes around another car to get in the left lane to exit. Iv taken similar corners 20mph faster. They checked my tires I was at 34(the one I folded)-35 front and 32-34 rear. And It was the inside tire that folded not the outside so more camber wouldn't of helped...

Well its ok there is just some scuff marks and an imprint on the tire from the balancing weight I just don't get why it happened.

205/55R16s on the stock snow flakes. I though going to 17's wasn't really necessary but this makes me think twice but then again if I had a dedicated summer tire it might of not happened.

Hmm that is strange. I drove the crap out of my stock tires/wheels, and they were pretty "meh" all seasons (Goodyear RS-A) and they barely even rode up to the edge of the tread before losing traction, let alone fold over. And I never ran more than 35psi in them.

This just doesn't add up. Seemingly OK tire, OK inflation, not much speed, and it folded the inside tire. Honestly I'd say its more likely that the bead just lost its grip and came loose.

did you park near a curb recently? Scuffing the tire against a curb while parallel parking is a more likely cause. That or something is wrong with your suspension (loose bushing, tierod, balljoint, etc)

That or something is wrong with your suspension (loose bushing, tierod, balljoint, etc)No the marks were defiantly from what ever went wrong on the highway I'm pretty sure its something to do with my alignment more toe on that side than the other or something I'm getting it fixed after I install a rear sway.

And about the de-beading theory would that cause you to lose some tire pressure???

I run 38 PSI front, 29 PSI rear on my WRX.

If I need go get awesome mileage, I run the sidewall rated maximum minus a few lbs. For my current tires, that puts me into the 45 PSI range. I'd run 45 front, 40 rear.

If you broke the bead on a tire, it would lose ALL tire pressure, and the sidewall of the tire would no longer be on the outer most part of the rim.

When AutoXing, you can 'fold' a tire over pretty easily and rub the rim on the road surface without breaking the bead. Hence why most of my friends who do AutoX run higher tire pressure in their cars, and why I run 225 section width tires on my WRX.
