Upgrade keyless/ remote starter

my 97 subaru legacy with DEI Valet remote starter keyless that previous owner installe
but I want to change it to something else : viper, python
can I just plug and play
or do I have to do all the wiring again

unless you get the same system it most likely wont just plug and play. you dont have to rewire everything you could always just slice the connectors once youve figured out witch wire is witch
