As a lot of yous know I just bought a 1998 Legacy L Wagon from one of my friends at college. The timing belt was soaked in oil and so the timing went. We've set the timing about 3-4 times and its still not in time.

The next job was towing it home. We couldn't get a full car trailer so a dolly was our only choice and it wasn't the best dolly I've seen. https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2010/05/DSCI1446-1.jpg

It took me and the old owner about an hour to completely remove the back half of the drive shaft otherwise I would need a new transmission. Then came the part of putting the car on the dolly. The car, on stock springs and all, was too low to actually go on the dolly so we resorted to jacking the front of the car up as high as we could and setting it on jackstands, then pushing the trailer under the tires. Then we hooked the trailer up to the truck and backed it up again. That wasn't enough.

The bumper still wouldnt clear the front of the dolly so we got 2 jacks and jacked the ramps of the dolly to tilt it forward. Once we got it forward 4-5 of us pushed the car the rest of the way and finally got it on the dolly. we secured it and started home. On the way home my parents (I was following in my GT) almost got ran off the road by some asshole truck driver. We got home around 10:30 at night, put a board under each tire, pushed the car and it came off the trailer no problem.

and about the damage to the bumper and fender...I actually have both parts sitting in my shed that are in a lot better condition...I really lucked out.

The shit we go through to get our project cars home. I have a bunch of friends that have trucks and suv that would not help me when it came time to pick up the svx.

well today i put the right side mudflaps back on and hammered my old fender into better shape...this weekend the fender and bumper will probably get replaced...im also gonna try to get the front main seal, timing cover gasket, and timing belt and seeing if itll run then

Replaced the front bumper and put a fender on temporarily because it is in better condition than the old one

Tried to get the main seal out with no prevail...said screw it and got the timing belt back on, put everything back on, started it up and it ran nicely...jacked up the back and put the driveshaft back on, took it for a drive and realized how bad the leak was

hopefully gettin a muffler welded on tomarrow so i can get it inspected before the 10 days are up (3 days left)

then I'll worry about getting the seals replaced
