Need headlight help for 2003 legacy L !?!

I recently changed from a one bulb headlight to a two bulb. I have daytime running lamps and i can get this bitch wired proper. Any help PLEASE!!!

Without pictures of your harness and the connectors for the head lights there's very little info i can give you.

All I can tell you is that with DRL there is a constant voltage going to the low beams. There is no extra wire on the harness for DRL. So end result will be leaving the DRL light in the new head light disconnected and running your DRL through the low beams. I could be wrong though since I am only using the Gen 2 legacy as a guide.

Post pics and I can help you from there.

hey chuck.....your correct about the drl having a constant voltage
the new head light has one power to each bulb and then they share a common ground

If got got it why do chuck need the pics?
On my car Black wire is a common positive while red and green are ground for each bulb. Think red was the low beam.

Because Chuck doesn't have a BE and is trying to help. On BD/BK/BG there is only 1 power wire and 2 grounds that trigger the low/highs.

Can anyone confirm this?

I got a headacke working on my hids. I always tought the black wire was ground and red/green was the positives to each light.
Now i know that Black is a common positive and green/red is switching ground for hi/low.

For the original headlight it was one bulb 3 wires. On the new two bulb headlight there is also 3 wires....2 individual power wires and a shared ground. Seperate the shared ground on the new headlight and make into two individual grounds. With a test light find the constant power wire on the old harness. Connect both power wires to the constant power. You will notice that there is one wire that when you use a test light activates the high beams. Connect the high beam ground to this wire. And lastly take the low beam ground and connect to the remaining last unused wire.

It's a common mistake. Subaru uses a switched ground system rather than the industry default positive switch.

Again, you have the ground/positives switched around, but thankfully that doesn't matter on halogen bulbs. On HID's though, there is polarity so you if youre going to be doing that in the future just keep in mind you have 2 grounds and one common power wire.
