I know this is a little odd, especially since most of you have a manual but, while coloring my gauges red today, I decided to take out the gear select indicator (P, R, N, D..), sand off the green, and color that red. It didnt work out too well I ended up sanding off the black as well so now at night I have half of the letters with light shining through in a million different places. It looks horrible I just wanted to know if anyone had a similar problem as this and how you fixed it.

5MT swap? :D
Seriously, I'd grab a Sharpie and redo whatever's supposed to be black. Probably take a couple "layers" to fill dark enough. That, or try a light coat of black paint.

I switched mine with a shift boot. I don't have any indication on what gear it's in. I just know the car so well.

Sharpie didnt do anything.. I put a couple coats of black paint on there and it helped a little but you cant tell it says 1,2,3,D etc.. anymore. I decided to Just paint over everything.. the only things you can see are P and D.. I dont need something in front of me to tell me what gear Im in, I just wanted it to look nice, so much for that.

I took mine and I lightly sanded the underside, but only the part under the PRD321 part and coloured it red. Technically the green is still there but theres enough read that you cant see it

I wanted to do what Lee did, just got a little too messy with it I guess.
Ill probably end up going the way strat suggested, I gotta go soon to see if I can get a new seatbelt(female end) anyway.
