fog lights

i have a broken one in my BG and i was wondering instead of paying $150 for (1) at the dealership and i cannot find any used ones at reputable wrecking yards, should i go and get 2 aftermarket fog lights? i would rather pick it up than have to deal with shipping.
can you get the glass lens by its self because that could save a lot of money if they were reasonably priced.
what brand(s) would fit without any modification.
does anyone know of a company that makes a metal mesh type of cover so i don't break them again.

i have an outback and i need the round fog lights. i dont think those will work.

i suppose that the hella 500, (550 are square) is not a plug n play, and i cannot just plug in the bulb and put the light in and it works, if they did that it would be too easy, and companies like to make everything hard.
also i got a quote for a USED fog light for $100 for (1) i called all over the place and no one has them used that i can just pick up, i even called that subaru wrecking yard in seattle, and they did not have one.

Well I have a stock Outback foglight complete with the factory mesh cover I'll sell ya for $25. Just gotta find the damn thing. I don't remember what side the bracket is for, but the lights themselves are identical from side to side, so if it turns out to be the other side you can just remove the bracket and reuse your old one.

Well the Hella 500s are aftermarket fogs and in order to make them work with as many cars as possible you have to wire it yourself - to include a harness for a specific car wouldn't make sense. But this is easy - just get some quick connects and wire stripper. Don't have to even touch a soldering iron.

I just had the same problem last week. I broke my stock fog, couldn't find any used ones.

Hella 500s go right in there upside down, and they are much much better than stock. $70 at AutoZone, took me 10 minutes to get them mounted.
