eBay Impreza FMIC kit fit on a Legacy?

I know that this was discussed a little bit in a couple old threads, but I thought I would bring it up again since I'm seriously looking at getting this kit for my supercharger setup. I know that I'd have to go custom from the supercharger to that initial hot pipe, but after that, does anyone have an idea of if it would even come close to fitting on the driver's side?

I've been looking at FMICs also, but after looking at how much room is behind the Outback bumper I decided away from the kit that you posted. I'm gonna piece my own together using this intercooler:

Right, I was thinking that that front mount was much too big, and I was thinking the exact same thing as you. That piping kit you posted is also on eBay for $100 shipped.

First though, I'm going to go and get some measurements of the space behind there. And from what I've heard, it would be a good idea to pick up a few more 2.5" couplers in case the pipes don't fit quite right and need to be cut. I know that the hotside pipe will probably not clear my ABS pump, which is sitting halfway into the fender.

Edit: This picture show the cold pipe hitting the tow hooks, but it looks like this person mounted the IC much farther forward than I would mount mine.

I was measuring down in there too. If you are willing to lose the majority of your bumper beam and your foglights then there is no concern. I want to keep all that and I'm assuming you do too. Please share your results and if you decide to go this same route I would love to hear about how it works. I wont be getting a FMIC until I get a standalone EMS which probably wont be for another few months.

I think another important factor is the width of the intercooler. I think it has to be as wide as possible to allow the pipe to fit around the tow hook.

This will be happening the next couple weeks if all goes well. I'll post up a thread so everyone can see how to do it.

Just ordered the piping kit. I still haven't decided on a core yet, but I think I am going to use a larger 28x7x2.5 intercooler to fill out the space behind there.

:lol: It seems like I'm the guinea pig for every project I do, so I guess I'm used to it. In any case, I'm making this work, and I'll take plenty of pictures along the way. I hate it when people do a project like this, and don't document it.
