Differences between 96 and 98 Inner and Outer Tie Rods?

I am about to do a front end rebuild (inners and outers and ball joints) and noticed something interesting about the inner and outer tie rods. Inners and Outers for a 1996 Legacy GT have different part numbers and are about half the price as the stuff listed for my 1998. What is the difference between the steering components from 96-98?

there should be no diff in them at all. 1990-1999 legacy are the same. also 93-2001 impreza are the same.
