Trying to find an EJ 251 shortblock or just the block for my 2000 Legacy after it threw a rod. Being on disability stinks. :smt022 Being without my Suby stinks more. :smt012 My daughter gave me a 95 Cadillac STS in decent condition. I actually like driving the Suby more. It's a lot more fun cornering with the AWD.
I dont want a JDM. Heard a couple horror stories. If I get a short block or just the block, I will probably have it rebuilt anyway to make sure it is good. Tranny will get rebuilt too even though it only has 115,000 on it. Not much sense in not doing it. It would be like putting "new wine into old wine skins."
If anyone out there knows where I can get the block, a quick email would be appreciated. Trying to keep the project to $2500 for the whole cost A mechanic friend is going to switch it out for $500. Also finding it hard to keep in my budget range. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Isa4310. :study:

Thanks,

Ken

where are you located in my area the going price for a working 2.5l 25d or 251 is running around 1500 i was very lucky and scored an extremly bare short block for 175 ie in need of oil pump/pan/pickup but it needs machining work before being put together (re-honing, polish the crank (he he), other minor rebuild things
