cd player laser replace

has anyone ever replaced the laser from their cd player?
mine recently stopped working so its a PITA right now!!

any help is much apprechiated!

i would just replace the hole cd player with a aftermarket one its probably cheaper and easier then just the laser

its a double dinn aftermarket HU tho. i thought that it might be better to just replace the laser?
ill just have to listen to my ipod from now on haha

I highly, highly, highly doubt that you'll ever be able to get the laser and sensor properly aligned if you attempt to replace it yourself. And by saying "highly doubt," I really mean that you'll never in a million years be able to do it yourself.

If you are really stuck on keeping that same head unit, see if you can find a local service center for that brand of unit and take it to them. But it will probably be more cost effective to replace the whole thing.
