where can i get an obd1 scan tool? and how much? cause my check engine light just keeps blinking on and off

Are the green connectors under the d/s of the dash connected? Disconnect them, they're diagnostic connectors, not supposed to be connected for normal driving/use.
OBDI scan tools aren't all that common as they tend to be manufacturer specific as OBDI wasn't as "standardized" as OBDII. Hence, the tools, if you can find one, are expensive.

you can get the code pulled at Advance auto or autozone (or most places like that).

we can read it if its 1996+
fords and GM we can get into OBD1 a little bit.

yeah my dads actually the district manager up here, i dont thnk advance can, but i havent tried autozone yet.
