AC Problems

Ok so my AC compressor's clutch wont engage on my BD, i've replaced the compressor and i still have the same problem. my question is dose the 3 wire plug on top of the compressor have power going to it? i know that one is a ground but other 2 are neither ground nor power so i was wondering if this normal or something is wrong.

low or high pressure switch might be bad. you can try jumping them with a paper clip if they are two wire sensors. you may not have a high pressure switch on your model. but look at the line before the condenser for one. low pressure switch is near the passenger strut tower

ok so i check every connection from the ac swich inside the car to the compressor relays to the wiring on the compressor and its connector and everything is connected and powered except for those 2 wires i cant find the low pressure switch either

any ideas

ok well ill jump it in the morning and see i can get it working any idea if the connector on the compressor has power to one of the wires when the ac button is pressed inside?? (thanks for the pic and +1 on the nastyness)

checked the low pressure switch and got nothing.. system still runs the same i guess im going to get a 3rd compressor and see what happens

my moms chevy astro van has the same problem, it was the low pressure switch. try jiggling the wires to see if the compressor turns on, if so, my solution was to put a paper clip in to where the wires go, since the wires are loose and about 60k miles later it still works fine. every once in a while to have to jiggle the wires and shut the hood very carefully and it works again.

thanks but ive tried that and the system works as it should im just assuming that the compressor went bad because everything seams to be fine

did the compressor you put on ever work? im guessing you got a used one, and may have gotten a bad unit. only other thing is theres a temp sensor that prevents the evaporator from freezing. its a thermister, and if reaches a certain temp is will open the circuit. that could be broken and stuck in an open circuit. i'm not sure of where the connector is on the hvac box but you can bypass it with a jumper wire. if not that you could have a open circuit somewhere. have you looked a fuses and relays to make sure their working?

im guessing that my current compressor was broken to start with and as for the hvac i replaced my with 98 gt and yes i have checked the fuses all are connected and i tested all the relays and all seem to be working and (clicking) properly
