Curious noise when braking...

When braking, while nearing a stop I'm getting this weird clicking/clunking with a little twist of squeak! Never heard it before on any vehicle. It does not do it everytime i brake either, I've had the car almost 2 weeks and I've noticed it 3 times....and i've been listening everytime i drive since the first time it happened. Does look like the FD bearing could use a replacing and the FP rotor is thin enough that it should be replaced... any ideas?

I have that exact same noise problem on the front passenger side. Bought new calipers, brake pads, and also resurfaced my rotors all around and I still have that clicking noise. I broke my abs sensor on the front passenger side thinking it was the cause but I also replaced that recently and still has same clicking noise. The only thing Im thinking now which is what your thinking is the wheel bearing. Well I havent thought of replacing my rotors, cause at that time I had my rotors resurfaced for free so I couldnt argue with that eventually when I save more $$ I will replace that also. When I get my rotors replaced which would be almost everything in that area except the bearing done I will get back to you to see if this solves the issue. But if you do decide to get your bearings done let me know if that fixes the problem! That stupid noise is annoying the hell out of me.

the squeek and thunk is that when you go over bumps, like speed bumps. i had the same problem in my outback. both front wheel bearings were bad, had them replaced and it feels tighter and no more sqeek or thump, except for all the crap i have in my car.

I haven't heard the noise in about two weeks, it'll probably be back though. I did look at my caliper and grease all the parts that rub and took out the slider pins and cleaned them off. That could have been the problem, but who knows. Certain brake pads often squeak just from the material that they are made out of. So I guess I really don't know what it is, but I don't want to spend the money to get the bearings replaced, and I REALLY don't want to replace bearings myself!

Check all the shims and anti-rattle clips, make sure they are all there and in good shape. That is by far the most common cause for disc brake noises.

The brake pad is loose. I had the problem on the front drivers side. I took the clip out that holds the pad and bent it to hold it tighter. Now I have to do the front passenger side now..

I found out what my problem is thats causing the weird clicking noises its my front driver bearings! Put in my new suspensions, axles, and brake caliper to figure it out. Broke the abs sensor bolt so I took the spindle out and was messing around with it found the hub had a little play and I could move it a little. My passenger bearings are good I cant even move the hub at all doesnt wanna budge so I am assuming its my bearings.
