new clutch problem??

okay i just put a new clutch in my 03 legacy L its a stage 1 xtr clutch. and new flywheel. yet for some reason it slips more then it should when i let it out. driving is fine when i stomp on it, it goes. yet it does seem to slip much more then it should. even one time i was fucking around and dumped the clutch at about 2500 and it more or less slipped when i stepped on the gas and let it out. idk if its normal? idk can someone help.

also idk if anyone can explain this but only in 5th gear does my trans grind? sync?

You know most performance clutches have a break-in period, right? usually 500 mi, you drive the car gently, then after 500mi you can start "stomping on it" and "f**king around"

My guess is either you ruined the clutch by not breaking it in properly, it got oil contaminated during installation, or the pressure plate is bad.

oh no i broke it in already for 1456 miles i babied it till 800 ammco put it in for me maybe they messed up but i dont know.

OK good, I didn't see that in your original post.

Then that pretty much leaves installation error or defective parts. Clutches are pretty simple devices.
