Nice Legacy! What kind of wheels are those? They remind me a lot of the original Advan Touring Competition's (TC) I used to have

thanks, glad you like. those are just so Kezera wheels, nothing too expensive. i thought they would look good on my car with that red trim around the outside. i'll have my suspension in sometime next week, so ill post pictures once i get it lowered.

Awesome ride. I'm not a big fan of the red lips...that look is really common on less awesome cars around me.
I have a Blitzen exhaust tip sitting on my workbench. If I recall correctly, Porsche designed the revised bodywork and spoiler for that car, so the wing is like that for a reason.
Cervantes
07-18-2010, 12:40 AM
thank you. i went with the red lip because i thought it would look good with the taillights and the calipers (when i finally get them, theyll be red).
i have my Blitzen stock exhaust from the cat back sitting in one of my closets. ive kept all stock parts once i've upgraded them, to include the radio.

Just out of curiosity do you remember what kit you used to smoke your lights? I got one that allows 78% visibility, didn't know if yours had a meter or anything on it. I'm debating on weather or not to remove the yellow reflector before I tint.
Cervantes
11-01-2010, 01:18 AM
i used one like this, but i cant seem to find one for the 2000 legacy right now
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-04- ... 4831b9c440 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-04-SUBARU-LEGACY-HEADLIGHT-FOG-SMOKED-TINT-COVERS-/310071903296?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4831b9c440)
i'm not sure how much visibility i have percentage wise, but i know i'm going to get HIDs due to not being able to see that well when it rains at night. the kit i have came with the film for the side marker lights. it was fairly simple to apply, but i did have to do some cutting to make it fit right. for the price, you cant go wrong.

The AC is my main problem, how do i take it out, and what sockets/bulbs are in it.
Cervantes

i used blue and the size was just medium. next time i go to autobacs i'll get the name for you.
the a/c is really easy to do. just work from the shifter up. take that off, make sure you get the screws above the ashtray, theyre really hard to notice if you dont know what youre looking for, and from then on you just unclip and unscrew. its really pretty easy once you get it in front of you.

ok so here is some feedback on the boost controller, 4 pots and Mine's ECU
the boost controller is really accurate. lots of boost setting and very easy to use.
the Mines's ECU is awesome! consistent boost, excellent acceleration, smooth boosting, and overall the car just feels great. if anyone gets a chance to find one of these on ebay or anywhere else, it's a great investment.
the 4 pot calipers look really pretty on the car, but the performance lacks. my stock caliper, rotor, and brake combination felt much better. the stock calipers had greater stopping power. i did it mostly for eye candy, and i'm not out on the track, so theyll work.
i have the 2 pot adapters on the way, so once they arrive, i'll get them installed. i also have a new clutch on the way, which should help with the cars performance. pretty excited about that.

Something went wrong then. I've felt the difference between your stock brakes (on another '00 Blitzen, no less!) and the 4/2pot setup. The 4/2pot setup is clearly better.
And these guys all give them 5 stars (there were more, but I figured 10 got my point across):

Remove the Header and exhaust as far as needed, Remove front wheels and take out the axels, remove shifter and drop the transmission.
Remove the clutch and bearing. Install new clutch and bearing. Be carefull with the bolts to the flywheel and tighten them evenly.
A crowbar between the intake manifold and block to pry the engine back eases the removal/instalation of the transmission, just remember to remove the pitch stop.
Tough it may be more to remove.
I used about 8 hours over a weekend.
Also when you are at it, check the flywheel bearing and change the fluids, check the splines for rust/damage.

The auto hobby shop, or whatever the Army calls it, won't let you perform it there? I had to do an emergency clutch job on Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, while on a trip to Nebraska. Had to leave it overnight, too. Other than the staff being douches, I had no problems. It was real nice to have access to a lift, tranny jack and every tool I could use for once.

I looked through your member ride thread of a pic of the center bezal but I couldn't find one, but in any case you probably can remove the pocket and get a double DIN.
*edit* I just read that you said a small pocket, i'm assuming that it is less than the size of a single DIN in which it wouldn't work. But if it is the size of a DIN pocket it still should work.
OK sorry to get off topic.

It's been a while since I've dated because of the issues I've had with my car. Here are some some pics of what's been going on lately with the help of JPANB4 from a different forum. He made the air intake, which has worked awesome so far. The car feels like it's breathing better, the throttle response seems better, and it just looks a lot nicer! He is also helping me put in my FMIC in the next few weeks. Once that's done, I'll finish replacing all the vacuum lines.

You still in Okinawa I been seeing your car from time to time around the island. I got the blue dumped B4 with the gold rims and tinted tails that used to have the sti spoiler which is thank god in the closet now. Curious about a few things like the shop you got your down pipes made. All us Oki guys should meet up sometime. We could all help each other and learn I also use to be a ASE mechanic and mech in the army prior to going signal. Always loved your car tho man.

Thanks! The downpipes are aftermarket, Zerosport. I had tried to get something going before, but people always back out last minute. I'm always down to trade knowledge, and I'm free on the weekends to do it. Pm me if you want to get together, I am in serious need of an outside perspective on the sound coming from my downpipes.

The Blitzen bumper really isn't made for a FMIC lol.
I've seen one modded nicely by cutting a hole in the middle that matches the style of those on the sides, looked factory.
This car is getting serious!
BTW did you just spray the engine cover with a can? I've seen one for sale before that was the exact same colour.
Cervantes
05-06-2012, 08:46 AM
I was thinking about getting a hole cut in the bumper, but that's still up in the air. I just bought paint from Make-man and spray painted the cover.
I really need to get it remapped, it's running like shit.

I can't really tell what you did, did you cut out a section and caver it in mesh? Need more pics!
Cervantes
05-10-2012, 07:33 AM
It was a 3 step process. I had the hole cut out, but I didn't want just a plain boring square, so we gave it a different shape. I bought some mesh, and painted it black. Finally, I got something that would black it out even more and put it behind the mesh.

Thanks. It took some time to convince myself to do it. I honestly didn't want to do it, and once I did it, I didn't stop working on it until I liked it.
I really want to do the same thing where the pipes are at, but that's going to be very difficult.

Cervantes

I really don't know. I have coilovers and just adjust lowered it to where I wanted. I think the springs I had in the past lowered the car 33mm.

I have been admiring your car for a while now. Every mod is done tastefully and looks clean. Yamazaki got my hooked on those Blitzens when I was at his place. So much more to them then just the normal BE's.
I do think that you should take the wing off though... Just because I want it! HAHA! I love those things just because they are so odd looking! :smt023

I'm having my new wheels put on, they're 18x9.5 Rota Grid on 225/40/18s. I'm running adjustable Cusco coilovers, which helped them fit easier...but the rear wheels still need to be properly fitted. Here are some pictures of what's going on so far:

He bought it for a grand and spent a grand to fix it. It came with the wheels when he bought it. I thought about blacking out the intercooler and piping, but I haven't felt like taking the bumper off. I'm not sure if I would have to prep the pipes prior to painting them black either.

Use a little bit of Scotch Bright, wash with car wash soap and water, final prep with wax and grease remover, then paint... Pretty easy and that would definitely clean the front up!
I still love the way it looks ether way! :smt023 Still want your wing! LOL
