Would a 99 legacy stnd transmission fit AND work in a 2001 Legacy GT?

Would the wiring be the same?

would anything be different with the length of the DS?

I'm almost positive bell housing is the same.

Would mounting be the same?

Is there anything different that anyone knows of?

Swap the tranny, axles, rear diff & driveline to be 100% sure.

hold up would this trans be from a 2.2 or a 2.5 MY99. if i remember correctly all 2.2 subaru's still used a cable operated clutch.

if its a gt or outback (2.5) it should have a 4.11 anyway and be a strait swap....

reuse the hydro parts (including the clutch assy & hydro clutch fork) on the non-hydro tranny.

I've done it before, and Wayne Chin [LINK] (http://wac.addr.com/auto/obs/obs.html) briefly mentions it (but doesn't go into detail since it's kinda obvious)

From the kind of questions you're asking, I'd recommend you just find a manual tranny from another GT of the same generation/bodystyle/etc. No guesswork, etc.
