So i've had my legacy L for about a month now probably, maybe a little less. And i do want to modify it, nothing too drastic though. Because A i don't have much mechanical know how and B i don't make quite enough money lol. But i would like to do some slight aesthetic and performance upgrades. But im just trying to get guidance on a good place to start with. I was thinking about either doing a new muffler or a new air intake to start out with. If i get the muffler should i get new hearders as well? I'm just trying to see what you guys think would be a good place to start. Thanks! :smt024

Wheels! WRX/Impreza takeoffs are really cheap, the alloys look a lot better than the steel wheels, and if you get the right tires you can seriously improve the handling.

I took it to a goodyear shop when we were looking to get the timing belt replaced, and when they had it they said the tires on it werent right for the car (i think, don't remember completely) and the dealership we bought the car at had said they were new tires and apparently they weren't. Lol car salesmen. But YEAH! i wanna take it back and get the lowdown on exactly whats up with em. And new rims would be nice, Ive been diggin' the kosei k1 rims, but Wrx or impreza rims would be awesome, cheaper too probably

If you decide to modify the engine, keep in mind that unless you do internal engine modification, you aren't really going to notice any major difference in performance from engine modifications.

Suspension/wheels/tires make a HUGE difference on this platform. A small drop and a good set of wheels and tires completely change the personality of the car, both in how it looks and how it drives.

no doubt i look back and wish i had started with the struts and springs before anything else now that i have them done
