sounds like they might be interchangeable, but I'd go off exedy's own chart

didnt look into it much, but i would go buy what exedy recommends for the part number.
2.2 and NA 2.5 clutches are interchangeable, but the 2.5 does have a physically larger disk...

Both are for A 2.5
A 15010 is for 2.2

So this is what I came up with....
Subaru list the same part number for the clutch kit..
1996-99 851-590-051
1999-09 851-590-051
If Exedy makes the factory clutch kit then why would Exedy list two different clutch kits :smt017
15015 for 1997-1998 GT
KSB04 for 1996 GT
The KSB04 is also for the 2006 OUTBACK R L.L. BEAN EDITION H6; 3.0L; Non-Turbo; Gas(EZ30D) :smt017
The response I got from Exedy was
Thank you for using Exedy products. The KSB04 will work in place of the 15015. The difference is that the KSB04 is designed to be used with the later model Legacy’s due to some slight changes in clamp load and in harmonic dampening of the clutch disc.

Sounds like KSB04 might be an upgrade over the 15015 kit since its used on the H6 and it cost less...

Sucks they never offered the EZ30 with a manual here.
But I just ordered the KSB04 for my 98 Outback - should work fine.
