haha here she is in her new glory,
this car has quite a story, to me at least lol. one day as i drove past this used car dealership i saw this thing sitting in the lot. i asked the the owner about it and he said it doesnt run. he said that the ac belt had cut through the timing cover and dislodged the timing belt while the previous owner was driving down the highway. i offered the owner of the used car lot 700$ and a pistol for it and it was mine. this guy knew nothing about subarus and 7 months ago neither did i haha  but here we are, ive learned so much about these cars from this girl. completed with 1500$ in parts and 75+ hours of work (dad payed for parts i did labor) we FINALLY have her finished.... well ill stop blabbering and post the newer, awesomer (lol) pics for you guys

mmmhm. shes annoying at times with some engine bay rust due to the previous owner living in new york but i dont tihnk it was driven in the snow all too much. the overall undercarriage isnt badly rusted so i suspect he mighta rinsed it frequently. but the engine bay has some good bits of corrosion in it. ive broken 6 bolts so far and 10 hose clamps >.< oh well... its all the more fun right???? :smt011

well today has been a good day  and an extremely productive 5 hours of work on this girl. we put the intake manifold on, put the fuel rails on, injectors on, put on all the unlabeled electrical connections etc, and all the unlabeled vacuum lines. about 25 minutes ago we tried to start her with no exhaust hooked up. and only the intake filter box on. she didnt start but only because the injectors did not seat properly in the fuel rails and all 4 injectors were badly leaking fuel :smt011 but just hearing that car turn over once again made me smile and realize, after all this work. she will be running by july 9th (im leaving for canada monday and wont get back untill the 2nd of july) but it made me really happy and now im in a good mood. its amazing what satifaction something like this can bring.

thats too bad, that you breaking bolts...
Doing your on mechanical work on a subie is very satisfying. Keep at it.
I spend 9 hours working on my subaru changing the oil pump.
I had the radiator and fans out. drained the oil. had the ac, alt, power steering belts and belt tensioners off..
crank pulley out, timing belt, idler pulles, timing belt tensioner, crank sprocket off.. all that before I could finally pull the oil pump.
I'll stop rambling now. lol. anyways keep at it. I think i'll keep an eye on this rides thread.
