question, i just got an email from the subaru dealer where i bought my car saying it was about time for my 21000 service, i already got an oil change and most of that stuff looked at by NTB earlier this week. And i kept the record and had the tech sign that little maintenance book. am i in danger of any warranty issues if something would occur or is that just a ploy to get me to go to there place for business? thanks

just keep the receipt for when you went to ntb/oil change and you *shouldn't* have any issues

You are not required to have service done by the Subaru dealer in order to maintain your warranty. However, there are certain services that are required to be performed as scheduled in order to retain your warranty. These should be noted in your warranty booklet. Stuff like oil changes and engine tune-ups.

That being said, if you make a warranty claim for something, Subaru may require proof of performed maintenance. This is easier if all the service is done by Subaru (since they already have the records) but if you keep your receipts or a maintenance log, that should be enough.
