HELP ABS COMES ON ON ITS OWN

So my wheel bearing went out and before I got it replaced my abs started acting up. What it does,is as Im slowing down just a little bit before I stop it seems to kick in. The pedal will push back and kinda pulse and it will make a groaning noise. It only does it at low speed never fast or when I slam on the brakes.

I had this problem when my tone wheel broke. When i would start to come to a stop... my brakes would sounds like they were grinding/grabbing and as i got slower and slower... i could feel my abs pulsing in sequence with how fast my wheel was turning. I had my brakes done because it was time anyways and they told me that my tone wheel which lines up to the abs sensor had broke. It wasnt a big deal for me to pull the ABS sensor and ride around without abs for about a year (your brakes just act as a normal hydraulic brake setup.)

I just went down to the subaru dismantler (specialized parts planet subaru in rancho cordova, ca... they ship and will sell it to you with a parts and labor warrenty) and spent $110 on a used steering knuckle assembly WITH a two year warranty.

The warranty covers the steering knuckle as a whole... including wheel bearings.

I would recommend going this route if you dont want to shell out $300 + to get new bearings. If your bearings go out... they send you out a new steering knuckle and pay whoever you want $75 per hour labor to swap it out.

+1 for a good post. Either the tone wheel (reluctor) or the pickup. It's either got missing teeth, is broken, is missing, is covered in crap, your sensor is covered in magnetic shavings, your air gap is too big, the sensor is just plain weak and bad, or, you have a wheel bearing that is bad, causing the tone wheel to move closer to the sensor during part of the rotation, then move further from it for the rest of it's rotation (runout).

All in all, good times. Pulling the fuse will disable the pump, and keep ABS from kicking in at all, as mentioned.

ok ill check the tone ring its sounds like that is the likely culprate i have replaced the bearing sxo its not that and after talking to some trchs at work and u guys thats prob the case thanx
