EJ22 compression

Hi, the ej22 sounds a bit valvey, compression tested at >180 PSI all 4 cyl. what's standard comp.

the fsm says 156-185 psi

looks like you have a good little motor.

what year ej22? you might need to adjust your lifters they can make a tapping sound

Thanks Grafton,the engine is a 95 with lash adjusters, all pulleys,plugs, leads,gaskets and belt are new and correctly set, timing spot on.
Thinking IACV, though I have just started running 98 octane. Maybe injectors?

Do you mean 89?

I believe 98 octane would be mid-grade in most other markets, so about equivilant to 89 in the US.
