Hi, First time poster and second time Subaru owner.

I am looking to buy a decent daily driver, something that will do fine with a regular 30 mile (15 each way commute)

I am going to look at this car this weekend and was wondering if anyone could tell me what i should look for. Common Issues or whatnot Id really appreciate any input.

Take it for a ride and drive tight circles.

Thank you both very much for the information. Am i looking for a grinding sound with the trans axle? tie rods? (driving in circles)

and for the gasket. I have replaced gaskets before, is it difficult to do on a Subaru?

I just have a feeling that if it is too good to be true it usually is.

On a Subaru it makes it much easier to change the head gaskets if you pull the engine, which is pretty simple in my opinion. In the car it can be difficult due to the boxer engine configuration.

Timing belt should be replaced at 105k miles, definitely check if that's been done because that's a huge service. Water pump should be done at the same time too since you have to remove the timing belt to get to it. CV boots are often torn up on a car that age too, check for that.

as for the driving is tight circles. yea you are listing for grinding, and a jerking feel. this is known as torque bind.
+1 to that jey
