thermoconversions who make Morette were going through some pretty tough times at the start of the GFC. They actually closed down their factory and stopped production for a while. I know they did re-open but were still doing it tough so may have scaled back their operations which means their lights are even rarer than they used to be. You sometimes see them on import monster and yahoo japan auctions

FYI ( I know this is old ) but I was able to order direct. It took a few emails to get them to respond and you have to pay via bank transfer but it is doable.

Do you have them? I went through all that and they just stopped replying. Never got charged, though.
I then found a N-I-B set on craigslist, buying them within mere minutes of the posting, only to foolishly sell them. :(

Dang thats lucky. I had to spend close to that amount to find some in Japan and get them shipped over on our container. Do you know if replacement parts are available?

I have had but now it has been sold, they are very effective and distinctive headlamps with dual lamps and wiring and relay to avoid the voltage drop. They are found at few places only, it will be really hard to get them.

I'm almost tempted to try and go through the hassle. I've already emailed them a couple of times with an inquiry but haven't received a response. I wish I could see more pictures of them on our leggy's.

Anyone have any idea on how they compare to the JDM projectors as far as performance?

See sybir's MR1 thread. And they are better than factory JDM's.

I think that if you are intending to run HID's you'd still be better off getting the JDM ones, on the basis of cost. By that I mean doing it properly and retrofitting HID-specific projector lenses.

If I get back from snocross tomorrow with enough time I'll take a pic, I think they are good but shine a little too high for me, not where people are flashing you thinking your brights are on but if it is foggy/snowy it's not great. If they are lower then daily night driving would be compromised. I drive in a lot of snow and fog though so I am more concerned than the average Joe about that.

Two quick pics from my phone, which does not do them justice.

I sent them a message about 1 week ago, to ask them if they had any Morette's available for a 3rd gen - which they do not make :smt013 , but I asked him how much for the 2nd gen (96-99) = $512.41
