Did you completely purge cooling system of all air.
Did you use an OEM thermostat?

Could be a bad coolant temp sensor - how long are you driving before the temp shoots up?

around 15 minutes drive already one thing i'd notice is when i rev the engine the temp sensor also going down to normal temp and when i got home and pop up the hood water went to my reservoir near to full

be sure to purge the coolant! I had this very same problem an it took 3 flushes to get it right! an yes I changed the same identical items as you with the exception of the heads.

yup its normal if it sits near the mid but going above mid but not totally to the extent in the redline is not normal...

recently still experiencing temp shoot up but once you rev the engine till 3-4k rpm it goes back to normal, i have doubt about the thermostat, it might not working well even it is brand new and OEM one...well i'll try to change it again if still come again...

This just happened to me i flushed the system and to let all the air out there should be a bolt that will take a torex right by the top left of the radiator and when you open it watch out its under pressure and will shot out after ait has left.
