I wanted to know how do you bleed/flush the power steering fluid? Is it something easy to do like changing oil, gear oil, coolant, etc. or is it totally different? I have never done it in any cars I have owned and im curious about it. There probly is no reason to change the power steering fluid unless you take out the whole steering system or something but I would like to know and try it for the knowledge. Any help would be great thanks.

a flush never hurts.

they way i do it is with a vacuum pump. i use clear fluid, so i just suck it out, turn the wheel from all the way left, to all the way right a few times, suck it out, repeat, add some, turn wheel, suck out, ad more, turn wheel, add more, turn wheel, add more, untill its clear.

Right, you want ATF fluid, NOT power steering fluid. I think they recommend Dextron III or higher.

Ok so I am suppose to not use power steering fluid and use some transmission fluid for the power steering flush?

Power steering fluid wouldn't kill it but ATF is cheaper.

There isn't really an easy way to flush the power steering. Basically, you drain, fill, run the engine and turn the wheels back and forth several times, and repeat several times.

with my lexus, there was a tutorial that showed how to flush the power steering unit.

should work the same way.
