HELP my clutch doesnt work anymore

i took a long drive to Sacramento and when i pulled off the freeway i had absolutely no pressure in my clutch. i had a friend tell me my throw out bearing and pressure plate went out.

when i hit the clutch in it goes to the floor and stays. i can pull it out and it springs up but when i push it again it stays down again. the linkage barely moves on the bell housing when i push the clutch.
i think it is the pressure in the hydrolic lines, how would i bleed that if anything ? maybe that is my problem.

anyone in the downtown sac area if anyone around here can help out

ok so my buddy pumped it till it was hard (he told me to say that) it worked he just gave it a little pump with the pedal not letting it go to the floor and the pressure came back. so we took it around the block and as soon as i parked it did it again could it just be the soft line from the clutch going out ?

or the slave piston. Sits at the end of the clutchfork. should be an easy swap and bleed.

i found the trick to driving it ... you gotta barely tap it multiple times untill it gets pressure right before you stop... its alot of work but doable haha im going to pick n pull to get a hopefully better slave piston and then kragen for a braded soft line.

Get a refurb/new 1. Used 1 could give u the same issue again

Okin is right.

#1 reason for a clutch pedal to hit the ground is your Slave Cylinder

There cheap and a quick fix. Then you have to deal with bleeding the clutch line which is not fun on any subaru.

ok so i am so confused at whats goin on with my clutch hose still... i replaced the slave cylinder and it still keeps doing the same thing. i found the leak is happening somewhere from the hose. if i hold my clutch down i can watch puddles form on my tranny, so maybe i over stretched teh bolt going into teh slave ? any tips anyone ?

sounds like your clutch line is leaking / torn

replace that with another or get the upgraded stainless steel line. The stainless line will help with pedal pressure/feel.

Well I got a as one on it's way just it's gonna take a few days due to the holiday weekend and what not. I have pulled the hose out and checked it and it looks fine right now I just have to refill it before I go anywhere.

I'm wondering if you replaced the thin little copper washer back. If you didn't, that also would cause it to leak. the washers sit to the right ChuckTheFuk's thumb in this pic:

"some" units come with 2: top and bottom.


Also, if you have a cam (cell phone too) pics "might" help.

Well I did replace that washer it a few times with different sizes. Tried both top n bottom. Hopefully I will get that new hose in the next few days if not idk. What size washer would I need to use do you think ?

Maybe worth hitting up the dealership. :dontknow: Could be an inexpensive part.

40 bucks n the would have to order it ... I already have one on order just trying to see if there Is another way to fix it
