take the bezel, radio, cluster, and glove box out. Then there is a trim piece all the way up against the windshield. On each side by the doors, there is a small cap that come out to reveal a bolt. Also, the steering column gets dropped. I think your going to have to take the ABS brain out too to get the bottom most bolts out, so your gonna need tamper proof torque heads or a lot of patience and a vise grips.

Yea that was my method! Find the FSM for your car and there is pretty much a step by step.

A lot of patience is key. That and labeling parts you remove and labeling connectors.

Do I have to remove the \passenger airbag cover in order to remove the three bolts circled in red?

No, you do not have to remove the Airbag, just the glovebox and the stuff behind it.

the glovebox is out. could you be more specific about 'the stuff behind it' that needs to come out?

Probably means the bolts behind it. I hope your battery is disconnected.

Instead of removing your steering wheel and air bag just take down the two bolts under the dash that hold the steering shaft up then it drops right out of the way. Lable and disconnect the connectors, take the bolts out up by the wind shield, removed covers for bolts by the side of dash and remove those, remove fuse cover panel on drivers side and disconnect connectors, Pull out gauges and that should pretty much do it.

battery has been unhooked for days now.. every bolt is out. there are many bolts up behind the glove box area. dont know which ones to pull.. does the airbag come out with the dash or does it stay in?

Air bag comes out with it. You have to remove the bolts around the glove box. I believe the air bag bolts are behind the cover if you pry it off. Dont remove the cover.

got it was just a few more 10 mil bolts that kept the airbag bracket in place.
