You need a ISO adapter like this one:

+1 for the adapter.
You can wire the stereo to the harness outside of the car and then just plug the adapter into the stock harness later. Makes for a very easy install.

Swing by a best buy and go to the car audio install department and see if they have a spare. That is how I got mine and it cost $12

Some Walmarts will also have these harnesses.

Does anyone still sell the direct plug and play harnesses like I use to be able to get from circuit city?

BAH! just pin out the harness and hard wire that bugger. lol seriously though, if you cant find the proper harness, that's another option. i have done that a zillion times, but it's because im too cheap to buy a real harness, that and i get a strange happy feeling when i start using electrical tape :smt036

I can wire one of those "universal" harnesses no problem, but I refuse to hardwire stereos anymore in case I want to sell the car with the oem deck later, or worst case scenario, the system gets stolen. I hate having to extend and rewire cut harnesses...

Here you go I think this is what you are looking for.

Sadly, that isnt it. Circuit City used to have a sweet deal where literally, they had perfect matched harnesses that would plug your aftermarket deck, into your factory harness with no wiring whatsoever. RIP Circuit City..

well, that is going to be different for every aftermarket stereo, so your best bet would probably be to look at the site of the manafacturer of your stereo.

well I did some research and actually, circuit city was bought out by tiger direct who has reopened the site for business. they still have the actual plug and play harnesses for toyotas and hondas (what I had worked on before) but not for subies. So that option is out. I will just have to do it the old fashioned way!

Ebay is your best friend when it comes to wiring harnesses.

Just to be sure, a 2000 model uses a single plug right?
