Ok so for years(as everyone here already knows) Morette has been "out of business" and the only way to get a set was to find the few that are for sale used

Well, i just emailed them for S***s and giggles and they responded! Morette headlights are available brand new!!!!!!!
now the bad news...its 475.12 Euros to order a set...which(At todays exchange rate) is about $602....

Thats pretty cheap considering i see them sell for $500-800 used. This for the BD series your talking about? Whats the contact email? Wonder if we can find more info out about them. I wonder how the light output compares to the JDM Projectors? Anyone know?

Yeah.. they are cool looking, however, I don't think it would be worth that money unless the light output was better. Not really sure if they are or not, as I've been wondering that question myself for quite some time.

morette still offers replacement parts for the legacy, i think they just discontinued production on assembled units. they still might have some old stock.

Morette usually uses Hella projectors as I recall, the cutoff and quality would be much better than any OEM Subaru headlight from the 90s. The JDM projectors could only be called decent at best.

Decent? Hell.. the JDM projectors were about 200% increase in light output from the stock USDM plastic lights! so.. yeah, these are supposedly better? Anyone have a light output pic /testimonial who has actually ran both JDM projectors and the morettes?

As opposed to? Yeah.. they aren't like BRAND NEW projectors or anything.. but a HELL of a lot better then the stock flashlights in my opinion!

did you ever have projectors before? How would you say they compare?

They are way better than the stock lights but compared to headlight technology these days they are sloppy. Ever sat in an Acura at night and watched the cutoff? I was even surprised by the crispness of the Pontiac G8 headlight.

So you are saying the morettes are better then the JDM projectors? Thats basically all I'm asking.

I've never been in a new acura, or pontiac g8 so I have no frame of reference.

Those are the Morettes? If so, that cutoff is only marginally better than the JDM projectors with halogens in them. And the cutoff pattern is setup for RHD, those lights will blind people in LHD countries.

For about the same price as those if you shop around, you can get JDM projectors and retrofit in some bixenon projectors and have REAL HIDs with a proper cutoff...

you can adjust from a rhd cut off to a lhd. plus brown isnt a great reflector, like gloss white doors. also 35 watt h1's halogens are almost impossible to find state side, you'll get a bit bright light from a 55 watt. plus morettes are more about the twin light look, with a good halogen projector setup, and the rare amount floating around state side
