if i remember correctly the pre-2000 legacys are compatable with the pre-2007 imprezas struts/springs.
but i also hit my head alot and/or do more drugs than bob marley, sooo... yeah.. my input is useless

ps i was joking about hitting my head and doing drugs.

Totally different rear suspension on the 2000+ Legacys, but the Impreza stuff you mentioned wax correct.

He's selling the car anyway. :P

You will need spacers for the rear to cure the "saggy butt"

the front requires 2002-2007 impreza non-sti upper spring perches(tophat, not strut mount, since the fronts are 2 separate pieces). Be aware, you're putting springs on struts that are not valved for those spring rates, so the struts will have a shorter life.

Cliff's Notes: I did it to my BD legacy but had appropriate struts, and still had sad saggy butt.

So if i was to get 04 wrx struts and springs, thatd be better? And lower it?

What kind of spacers would i need to cure the sag, since the outbacks have those spacers in them already..(if im to just put in the wrx springs)

OR..does anybody know of a set of lowering springs that fit DIRECTLY onto my 97 obw?
I need to know, the new wheels on my car=huge wheel gap! -_- haha

I would say use the damn search button but then thats not very Chuck of me.

Purchase the spacers from
http://www.fastwrx.com/sabusp.html
or
Paranoid Fabrications.

If you search you will find the correct size spacer you will need.
..

04' WRX combo will not lower you by that much. Were talking less then half an inch if that. The ride will feel better but like DeadlyDave said there not valved properly for your car. Sourcing WRX Wagon struts will give you the closest valved struts since the GD Wagon falls a little short in the weight class as the BG Wagon.
....

ANY! WRX Coilover will work for you car you just have to rotate the top hats. This will eliminate the need for spacers/spring perchs and any other mix and match parts.

You can go as cheap as Megan or to the max HKS/JIC-Magic/Tein.

Skys the limit or your wallet is the limit.

YOU CAN NOT USE STI COILOVERS! The bottom camber bolt is spaced differently.

A lot of vendors are actually lazy. They have no clue what parts fit what, aside from their intended application. GD suspensions will bolt to GC's, and GD suspensions will bolt to BD/BG/BK's. So GC/GM/GF suspensions are interchangable, STRICTLY from a bolt-on perspective, with the 1st and 2nd gen legacies.

There is so much wrong information out there, it's hard to sift through. There is a suspension conversion thread on this site though...I've been away so long, I wish I could link it but I can't remember where it is.

i bet its ether in conversions or suspension.

You will need the spring perches if you want the spring to sit flush.

chuckthefuk

^^
Yup. Only 05+ STi struts do not fit since the bottom camber bolt is spaced differently.

Nope. 00+ had a different suspension setup in the rear. Whats the point anyways?
