Headlight swap question

I drive a 98legacy Brighton that I recently purchased hid lamps for. Long story short I'm giving my car away an being given a 97 legacy L wagon. I know these cara use different bulbs and I would really like to keep my hids so is it possible to just swap the headlight housing? Because I know that between 97 and 98 the bulb style changed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

They should swap, you just have to swap both the headlight and turn signal portions from the 98. They are 1 piece on the 97.

i did the swap, it will work.

how did you fix the difference between the wiring harnesses? just cut them before the plug and splice? Because the plugs are two completely different worlds. I though about taking them apart and re building but would a splice be safe?

yeah, splice it, (you have to do the same thing w/the jdm headlights)
yes it safe if you do it right:
solder & heat shrink.
