I live in ny and am looking to swap my auto 97lgt to manual. Anyone have experience with this that's willing to do this? I am mechanically inclined and will also help along the whole way. I have donor parts and looking to get a quote and or someone willing to do this. Thanks in advance.

The swap itself is pretty easy. Especially if you have a 5MT with the correct final drive ratio to match your rear diff.

I live on the other side of the country, otherwise I'd help you out. :)

Appreciate that. So the swap isn't as differcult as people make it? Seems the biggest things are the ecu and rear diff final drive. Correct?

yeah just make sure the front diff (inside the trans) and the rear diff match. everything should bolt up just fine, and as for the wiring harness, just find one in a junk yard cut the harness on the engine side of the connector, of the donor car and cut your harness on the transmission side of the connector in your car, and then splice the wires together in between the two connectors
so if you ever decide to put an auto back in is just unplug it and plug it back in
