hey guys the outback has a bad idle.

starts at 23 sec after running around town.
no I'm not touching the gas pedal

I had that happen to me on my saab. It was a combo of the IACV (idle air control valve) and a bad fuel pump on it's last legs. Go with whats cheaper to fix and see what happens.

I also had the engine shut off on me right after I would push it hard for a few minutes. I could replicate that with ease. or coming off the interstate. That went away after I changed the IACV

if you notice it clears after a bit. but the car continues to vibrate
when in town the car will vibrate a little
just touch the gas pedal and it clears.

i remember the guy saying he glued a piece of plastic some were under the hood. but i couldn't find it

yeah that sounds like mine, it would clear when i touched the gas. always idled really low

ok. i will see what i can do. i'll try to find leaks ect...

Have a look at the hot wire on in the MAF sensor, see if it is coated with junk. If so, grab some electronics cleaner or MAF cleaner (basically the same thing, get whichever is cheaper) and clean it up.

i figured it was it. since it had a vac hose go into it
