Help, doors will not stay open.

Does anyone know if there is a way to make the doors on a BD leggy stay open better? My drivers side door in particular just swings shut immediately even if I am on the most gentle incline. It's like the thing that holds it open has gotten worn down or something.

just replace that silver control arm then....or wedge ur foot in the crease.

It seemed to me like the black thing was responsible for keeping the door shut, am I wrong? By black thing I mean the black arm that connects the door to the body and has a couple of notches on it.

you are right. replace the back arm.

So I assume I have to pull the whole door apart to do this? Has anyone done this that could give me some pointers?

naaa, if you see it there should be 2 screws where that little arm is. look for that.

Pretty easy to do. I snagged a couple arms from the junkyard for $10 total and it took me about 15 mins to do both front doors. It is SO nice to have doors that don't shut on you.
