Can idling for 2 hours in snow kill a fuel pump?

Mine died after I got stuck in the snow for two hours. =\

idling is the easiest operation for the motor...it doesn't even have to move the car, so why would it kill the fuel pump if crusing on the highway for 2 hours is standard for any car?

Snow may have gotten into some electronics, that's the only thing I can think of. You should be nicer to your car :razz:

The car was stuck in snow, and it was well blow freezing out.
