Hello SLi,

Here's how it all started. After 1 year of constant nagging and up-selling Subaru's, Chuck finally convinced me that my Mazda 626 was a POS and it was time to get into a real reliable car. So after a few months I found my Batmobile, located in Montreal, Ontario with 200,000km on it and a Bully Stage 2 clutch. The body had some minor rust on the fenders and lots of rust on the rear quarter panels & trunk. So off I went to Chuck's body shop and had the rears repaired, resprayed and cleared. So there I was happy with what I purchased the total after body work was $6000 :-D

So apparently the car came with all the service records which is rare these days.. Anyways looking through the service records showed that the car had a few overheating issues, a few head gaskets done to it and finally a new short block with new head gaskets! All of this ended at 170,000km with a well running non-overheating EJ25 SOHC which i sold to slowbaru just recently at 270,000km. Now after a test drive and a need for some turbo i have this :-D

So heres my mod list with pics at the end. Enjoy.

Current KM on the body = 280,000

So I bought an OEM grille modified and meshed with the S401 badge riveted on from Subaru_Terrence. I then ordered a belt buckle off ebay and had to remove the grille support from my hood in order to fit everything perfectly.

This is what my Bat Mobile looks like now :smt029 Its a little hard to see but you get what I was going for.

There is a bit of a space where the light meets the bumper / grill but i am going to seal them up with sum weather stripping shortly...apparently it is difficult to find black rubber weather stripping when you need it

This CF hood is from CF-Technologies and not the GB from VKInnovvations

I'm really liking the way this car looks, I'm usually cautious of carbon fiber, but it really fits well, especially with the charcoal/gunmetal rims, it all combines to really accent nicely.

HE WONT LOWER IT! he doesn't even like how low the integra lip is..

I offered him JDM rear spats... HE doesn't want them.. or at least not now..

Reason, you have to understand Bataru is one of my good friends.. I MADE him buy the legacy.. I MADE him buy all those cool mods..

If there is a part available for his car.. he knows about it.. he just refuses to get certain things for random reasons..

Balderdash! all he is thinking about right now is replacing his 5MT with a good working unit and maybe an STi swap..

okay i measured it, sort of ..there was an exhaust in the way.......so it will be VERY inaccurate.....but it's roughly 29 and a half inches. you're best bet is to measure between the two bolts where the bar mounts.
we had to drill out the holes on the bar to fit properly but it's holding strong....and it's very low. I seem to hit it when i go to the cottage mostly

either way i can take a second crack at a mesurement in the coming weeks as i have decided to do a jdm sti swap i'm gonna get it monday i hope :smt026

Backstory to this...

Bataru was going to try to buy Jayo0o (JP's) v.9 swapped BH9 before Jayo0o had a chance to buy it. However Jayo0o had the cash in hand and got the BH9. So Bataru was angry.. upset and now out to get his Batmobile swapped. A few months later what do you know.. He saved and saved and now has the goods. Good on you!! Jon!! Way to show people who talk that it is possible with some hard work.

Little update since Bataru is probably busy or just doesn't want to type all of this.

Issues and solutions.... brought to you by me :-/

Problem ---> Steering rack... JDM.. RHD .. shit..
Solution ---> Re-manufactured 04' STi

Problem ---> BE steering u-joint (splines) are not the same as 04' STi
Solution ---> Rebuilt u-joint instead of cut and weld.

Problem ---> Rear axles wont fit!! 04' STi rear hubs wont work. R180 to multi-link rear spindles wont work..
Solution ---> This is tricky.. no real factual solution for the BE/BH
--Option 1) Hybrid axles. take 04' inner sti and merge with BE rear outter = $$$$$$
--Option 2) Spec B axles ... $220 a piece but they are R180 to R160 from the factory. (modification maybe necessary)
--Option 3) Option 1 but order custom "race" and "bearings" to use whichever shafts we want.

Problem ---> Rear 2-pot brembos wont bolt on to R160 legacy spindle....
Solution ---> Ordered DBA rotors "sti sized but R160 brake shoe compatible" & Brembo bracket R160 adapters.

Problem ---> JDM STi wiring diagrams in Japanese..
Solution ---> Found EDM manual which is similar!

more issues as we go but these are the big ones.

Oh yeah Bataru wants A/C and Cruise Control to work.. :smt012

Do the front brembos just bolt up?
For the rears, what all is needed on our cars to keep the abs and parking brake working? Is it just the rear caliper adapter bracket, sti sized wrx/legacy gt rear rotors, and remove the dust shield?
Thanks

Fronts = yes
Rears = caliper adapter .. grind the hub / trim the dust shield
Rear rotors must be DBA adapters.. Size of a sti brembo but the inner section for R160 ebrake.

All this info is covered in my Brake sticky.

It's All Done

Airlift 30 way Adjustable Dampening & Height air struts. Twin air tanks & Twin hi-flow compressors mount in spare tire well. Upgraded 1-way valves. Kill switch (for lifting on hoist). Water Purge valve mounting under spare tire well. Accuair e-Level system complete with 4 custom welded auto leveling sensors attached to each control arm. Auto-Calibration for height sensor as the ride or weight changes. On the fly controls via USB panel or iPhone. And the system airs up to the highest level within half a second. Air down takes 1 full second.
