Bright paint job question

I'm getting my BD painted in a few weeks but I've been going back and forth between colors. I want something that will stand out like a bright orange or yellow. i dont want my car to look the same as every other black, white, or red car out there. Or do you think it would be smarter to have a color that blends in with the other cars on the street.

WRB would look good if the exterior is modded, so I would say gunmetal.

WRB does look good, but it's on a lot of modified Impreza's.
Gun metal is a really popular new STi color, in fact I have only seen black, gunmetal and white new Impreza's

Yellow with black trim is a decent look for off road/rally and orange is hit and miss. Lime green is subjective as well. Maybe do photoshop requests.

A dark purple is a great color or like a Candy apple green with a GT Body kit.

gunmetal would be the easiest since thats what my cars was origanly, then maaco'd dark blue (then faded) now primered so idk thats why im so undecided about what color i want. i got the gt bumper so far im working on the sides and back, i can always get them painted later when i get them

Where you getting it painted at? Id go with a solid metallic color of sorts.. then again, i'm always partial to silver tones! They attract the least police attention in my opinion.

im starting to like the idea of a dark gunmetal or something and im getting it painted a small local shop who will get the door jams, trunk lid and knock out a small dent i have

I say do whatever goes with the engine bay best.
engine bay not matching body= Honda(rice) IMHO
Choosing a color is always hard, i'm having a hard time picking a color for my wheels, and thats simple to fix if not liked

How much you gonna be paying for the paint job? Damn.. wish i could get my whole car re-sprayed! Yeah.. if your not getting the whole car sprayed.. definitely go with something that will compliment the engine bay, otherwise you should pull the engine and spray it black or something.

well the engine bay is black and im spending about 1200 on the paint job, i wish i could get the engine bay to match the rest of the car but they said something like that will cost around $4000 cause of the amount of work and cleaning or something

Damn.. thats awesome. I remember paint jobs down in FL were SO much cheaper then here. And yeah.. i could only imagine the headache it must be to clean all the grease and shit outta the engine bay to respray it. Must be a damn nightmare!

ya i wish i had the money to do it maybe ill do a dark gunmetal so it wouldnt look too different from the engine bay but i still want to have something bright like orange or yellow with either a black or white stripe down the passenger side

theres a guy rollin around town with an Orange car w/ black trim and flat black wheels. Looks legit, but looks like 80% of the hondas out here. Go with gunmetal with deep bronze or dark red wheels, that would look fresh.

I just want something different than what everyone else has but if having a bright colored legacy will get me called a rider or something I guess I'll go with gunmetal that seems to be good choice

Go with whatever you want man.. its your money, its your car. Super bright colors on normal slow cars will always be called rice.. cause well.. its a slow car! You could go VIP classy, or super bright. Its your call. I myself would go with something classy and nice, since you probably dont want to attract TOO much police attention.

What does a paint job have to do with how fast a car actually is? He just wants a car that will be different from what everyone else has.


I had a 95 jeep cherokee that got into an accident so when I had all the body work done I had it repainted yellow with black trim, brush guard, and roof rack. Before people saw it they said it would be stupid, ricy, and lame. When people saw it afterwards though they said it was the perfect color for the car.

Besides if it ever produces real power and people think it's just a riced out Subaru you are going to surprise a lot of ignorent people

or get a radar detector and not speed. Not speeding on the interstate and main roads means I have no record whatsoever. Back roads are another story, but cops are few and far between out there.

I think I will just slow down for now there are very few back roads here in fl that are worth speeding on. I'm still liking orange but I like gunmetal too so idk I'm not getting it painte for a few more weeks so I can a few more paychecks come in

You do realize you don't have to have the orange stripe painted on, right? Vinyl works just as well and it's removable.

im with Huffer. do the vinyl :D plus you could always mix it up with a dark red or bright red stripe if you got bored of the orange :D but the black with the off center stripe is gonna loook fresh :D

if i did paint it gunmetal i font think having an off centered stripe would look unless i did black and i guess vinyl is the way to go with a strip but would it bubble or fade out over time? also im not worried about thieves because i just bought this new toy (http://www.viper.com/P-5202V/Viper-5701-Responder-Le-2-way-Security-And-Remote-Start-System)

Here is one of my favorite looks I have seen on a car. It was a car that I wanted before I got my legacy, long story. Anyways I think that this orange with the chrome 5-spokes is an awesome combination.

Why stripe your car?

Just spray it gunmetal with a flat clear and no one will have that in your area
