I've been busy guys..doing my swap on my hatch about 9mos ago...
I found a '90 leggy sedan ej22,4eat(car was T-boned B pillar :smt022 ) $200 for the motor ECU/wiring. Gave the front seats to my buddys '83 GL wagon...big upgrade..
It was a running Ej22 and the valve covers leaked..no biggie..
This was a long swap...the ecu and harness I cut down myself....oh joy...MAMMA MIA.... :smt027
My swap car is an '84 GL hatchback 4x4 ea81/ea82 D/R 5spd/LSD ('86RX converted to a 3.9)/rear disc.('86 rx)/6lug conversion/M/Ts(235/75R15)/'89 isuzu trooper wheels/'98 outback front seats...4" SJR lift.
GL front wagon springs/kyb struts/ rancho rs5000 rear shocks (Jeep TJ)
I used a redrilled ea82 flywheel to fit to the EJ22 from SJRlift.com
an XT-6 clutch kit. also an EJ/EA adapter plate from SJRlift.com
An ea82 fuel pump from an SPFI powered GL/loyale.
I did my own exhaust with cat delete as I have no DEQ here..2" dia to keep low end torque..I happenend to have free new pipe...so weld away I did..
I used an ammo box for the ecu storage..
The radiator had a couple 90* bends with 1.5" outlet brased on and legacy lower rad hoses on both ends...some cheap 12" elec. fans from ebay..for $25 a pair..
On pusher /puller fan.
The PS is looped until I convert it . and the a/c is deleted for clearance(fans).
