Outside mirror repair

I've got a '98 wagon. The glass on the driver's outside mirror is loose. When I drive it wobbles on its horizontal axis which makes it difficult to see traffic behind me clearly.

How do I remove the mirror without breaking it so that I can fix it?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Heat gun.. heat up the mirror and then pull it off.

So, I heat up the mirror and not the housing, correct? (I just want to make sure)

Yeah.. i would just heat the face of the mirror.. and then pry them off. Like this:
