04 STi hoodscoop, custom color matched to the grey panel trim and mounted on a (formerly) scoopless hood

Suspension:

KYB GR2 struts with King springs (2” lift)
STi JDM front strut bar
Rallitek rear sway and endlinks
Stock WRX front sway
Lots of bits of the front end had to be replaced with WRX and Forester stuff to make it all go together.
Summer: Enkei EV5 wheels with Dunlop Sport Signatures 225/50/17
Winter: Stockers with Geolander AT/S 205/75/15

Issues: (ALL SUGGESTIONS APPRECIATED!!!)

• No CEL
• No working temp gauge (the gauge is fine, it’s something in the way the ECU is reading the sensor)
• Airbag clips don’t match
• ‘Sticky’ clutch when transmission heats up after driving for an hour or so (won’t shift into 1st or reverse anymore when it’s hot)
• Fuel injectors cut out at 5000 rpms. This never happened until I had it retuned to 21psi of boost. The nasioc consensus is that it’s a cam angle sensor causing this, but I thought I’d ask here too in case anyone has had this issue

Enkei EV5s in Dunlop SP Sport Signatures. 225/50/17 I had these tires on my WRX and loved them, so I had to get a new set for summer. The EV5s are not nearly as nice as my RPF1s, but I'll live. :D They wouldn't fit anyway.

Way harder than I thought. You have to cut up your new cluster :smt013 and fit it into the Leggy cluster housing. Kinda sorta fits in there. Then, you need to saw away a plastic piece inside the dash so it'll fit in there. THEN... all the wiring to make it work. You may notice my temp gauge doesn't work... also no CEL.

However, I have yet to do a mod on this car (other than the strut bar maybe) that was as easy or cheap as I thought. :smt020

Old thread, I know, but how was the scoop installed? Just bolted on, or the "cut scooped part from STi hood and weld to BG hood" method?

You don't have to cut out the scoops from the WRX/STi models. They unbolt. For the install on a non-scooped hood like the 95-99 Legacy, all you need is the hole cut smaller than the scoop base, and install. You'll want the IC splitter though to direct the air down onto the IC. This only applies for the STi/WRX models that do NOT have the scoop molded into the hood (new gens).

Right, I meant to ask if he cut the recessed part of the STi hood that the scoop bolts onto. But looking closer, it looks like the OP did just as you described.
