Hi my name is Casey. I didn’t have any plans for this car. It remained stock for about 8 months. The only thing it had was ugly blue window tint. The head gaskets were replaced at 90k. I had to have a sound system in the car. Got a nice deck and amp/subs. Built my own custom sub box to fit the width of the trunk. I also angled the face of the box to point at the windows to resonate the sound better. Then I discovered Sli. Where the mod addiction started.

Here is the car when I first picked it up

You're crazy Bend IS a good photo spot! Shevlin Park you can get some good shots or anywhere along the Deschutes river trail. Also there was some turn offs on Mt. Washington you could get a nice view. Lived there for a year. Miss it like all hell. I also drove a gen 2 Legacy wgn. when I lived in Bend. Love the rio red, but before anything else, please paint your side skirts and lower lips  really updates the look. Nice looking wagon you've got. Cheers

Don't get hid high beams. You'll ruin them by flashing them on and off quickly. If you want hid high beams replace the projector with a bi-xenon projector

ill just have to swap the H3 for a brighter bulb if this is true.

some shots. the projected angle is way off. i got high beam flashed more then 15 times going to and back from this spot. i lowered them when i got home. not sure what the exact angle should be though.....

Edit* found a link posted on sli for the angle.

it looks like they are angled too much to the left/passenger side in thoes pics.
you should pull up to a white wall and shine your lights on it so you can see the pattern of the light better to help you adjust them.

Thats what I would do, get new brighter bulbs, and wire your high beam and your projector hid low beams to be on at the same time

alright the i have one more final then ill be up there as much as i can. to make my season pass pay for its self. skiers > boarders. boarders are just moving moguls. they are always just siting on the side of the hill chatting.

when i blacked out my bmw I went to the hobby store and got smoke spay can. Its a small spray paint can that has a transparent black paint in it. i did 3 coats and my lights were black. its amazing what the right products and some time can do. I had to do something similar after I got my car back from the shop after the first time it was hit, they half assed it and did a polish fade on the drivers side of the car to make the new paint look less noticeable against the old faded paint. looked like shit so I got some rubbing and polishing compound, and wax and went to work

well the good thing about Bend is that it is 3 hours to anywhere and the other way around. coming up soon Oregon AWD (http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/home.php?sk=group_183417108357030&ap=1) and i will be hosting an event for the re-grand opening of one of our AWD/Subie shops. ill be posting it here, LGT.com, IWSTI, nasty OX, etc. i want to get a good sized group together. more then likely there will be a BBQ going or my buddy's German Brat food cart. rally projects, vendors, cars, cars, teenager's totaled STIs and what not.

so today is the day where my illegal front side window tints come off. with my 2nd speeding ticket the officer tacked the tint on too. so the judge ordered me to remove the tint or replace it. im removing it now and replacing it with 35% some time down the road. might put up a more in depth DIY on Detinting windows with pics of the process and what not. this DIY helped viewtopic.php?f=39&t=6086 (http://www.sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=6086) but not everyone lives in a state with hot sunny weather year round.

the tint i had was very high quality. both windows were done in 1hr. ( this is including taking my door panels off, taking the tint off, removing the excess glue, putting the door panels back on, and cleaning the windows)

i was able to pull it all off with two pulls with most of the glue still on the tint and not the window.

thats nice to know. a friend of mine I work with has 5% on his door and side windows and nothing on the back lol but its still super dark inside, and if the sunroof is open it helps some light shine out so it doesnt look so dark.

I was thinking of doing a fade on mine, 35% front doors, 30% rear doors and side windows, and 25% back window but idk yet. might do the sides darker and the back lighter

myself. the shops down here rape you when it comes to tinting. $200 for (2)fronts, $160 for (2)rear passenger, $180 for (2)side rears, $200 for back.

i paid about $60 for the tint and $75 to my buddy who wanted to help me. came out with ZERO bubbles, creases, or dirt/hair.

peter
04-21-2011, 08:31 PM
nice Iv been debating on doing it myself or having a shop do it. the shop here wants around 200-250 ish for my car for the low quality stuff and idk if they would do the % I want. As long as I can find some good tint at a decent price Ill probably go that route

im not down for the way coils ride especially with the roads here being so bad. a buddy of mine runs ksports on his STI. the ride is really rough. he says doesn't like them and wouldn't recommend them unless i was going to be running on a track every weekend. he is probably going back to his stock struts and getting the STI lowering springs. so i think im set on 02-03 WRX KYB AGXs they have adjustable damping. then H&R sport springs. sway bars/ strut bars. etc. should still have good cornering with the comfort.

There is such a thing as nice coils. Ones that wont really ruin your ride at all while also greatly increasing the performance. However these are usually really expensive, European ones. Racecomp Engineering (RCE) makes a really nice coilover.

That being said with the driving that 99% of us will be doing some good lowering springs will be plenty. Liking what your doing with the wagon, keep it up!

Do you mean the one on the bumper? It's so you can see where the corner is on your car so you don't scrape/bump into anything, it's not a receiver. Some even glow a little so you can see it better at night. A lot of cars have that here, but usually on upscale cars or cars owned by old people.

The endlinks are bent because theyre the wrong ones. You need the "C" shaped endlinks. Not the dogbones.

Those Perrin endlinks are way pricey. If you want something half the price try these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... MEWAX%3AIT (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370513053660&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT)

Or you could even reuse your stock ones. Having SOME flex is actually good for a street car.
