The projector bulb is a 55w H3.. is it safe to run a 55w HID kit? I was going to just go with the 35w 3k kit but seeing it was 55w if it won't do harm why not do it?

55w is safe to run and it will be brighter then 35w.

Ok thanks. Just wanted to double check since I'm sure there would be more heat created with the hid setup vs stock 55w bulb

Remember the wattage is how much the ballast is pumping out to the H.I.D not pumping juice to the ballast. The ballast it self is getting the same + / - that was originally used on your factory harness.
Upgrade your fuse though just to be safe.
Check the DIY section for info on the HID and DRL delete.

I would strongly advise against using 55w ballasts with aftermarket HID bulbs in such a small fog light. The aftermarket bulbs run waaay to hot, and will likely melt the housing. 35w will be plenty of light.
You could, however, cut vent holes in the case to cool if you must use 55w.
