hi guys,

just thought I'd introduce myself. my name is Trevor. I live in Aomori prefecture, northern Japan. I work as an English Teacher for the Aomori Prefectural Government at the High School level, in the JET Programme. I moved here with my wife and kids just over a year ago from the US (Utah to be specific).

In the states my wife had an 04 WRX Sportwagon that was a lot of fun and a great car in general. We've been surviving as a family on one car (a minivan) here in Japan for the last little while. I recently came into a little cash from the sale of my R34 (http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/116758-yumgtrs-r34-build-saga-usa.html) back in the states, and wifey allowed me to spend a few grand on a 2nd car for myself.

So I have been searching for the past month for something that will be practical, reliable and yet still fun. I drove a Nissan Stagea which I thought I would love after owning a bunch of GT-R's, but I hated it. Then I drove a friend's 1995 Legacy GT-B (BG?) Twin Turbo wagon and I loved it. It didn't feel like a boat like the Stagea did.

In the end I found a nice one owner, 2003 Legacy GT-B Etune Wagon in metallic grey with a 5-speed manual transmission. It has 120k KM on it and 2 years of shaken, and the timing belt has been changed and there are copies of maintenace records from the original owner.

I'm picking it up in Tokyo in 5 days, so I'm super excited. Nice to be part of the forum.

'cause my kanji knowledge is that good... heh. i got the saitama part though, and I do study every day. trying to get JLPT level 2 while I'm here the next few years.

wife has a cousin that is a DODS teacher at yokosuka. beautiful area. also convenient that Mine's HQ is there. met the owner and head mechanic when we visited the shop and they took us out to sushi at a hole in the wall place down by the beach. Also got some great shots of the last Mine's R34 N1 car that they haven't sold yet.

Just read through your whole re-build on the GT-R forum, and I must say that car came out immaculate! It's a shame you had to go through all of the bs to get it there, though. Welcome, anyway. You have a very nice GT-B and I want your seats...
