hi guys,
just thought I'd introduce myself. my name is Trevor. I live in Aomori prefecture, northern Japan. I work as an English Teacher for the Aomori Prefectural Government at the High School level, in the JET Programme. I moved here with my wife and kids just over a year ago from the US (Utah to be specific).
In the states my wife had an 04 WRX Sportwagon that was a lot of fun and a great car in general. We've been surviving as a family on one car (a minivan) here in Japan for the last little while. I recently came into a little cash from the sale of my R34 (http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/116758-yumgtrs-r34-build-saga-usa.html) back in the states, and wifey allowed me to spend a few grand on a 2nd car for myself.
So I have been searching for the past month for something that will be practical, reliable and yet still fun. I drove a Nissan Stagea which I thought I would love after owning a bunch of GT-R's, but I hated it. Then I drove a friend's 1995 Legacy GT-B (BG?) Twin Turbo wagon and I loved it. It didn't feel like a boat like the Stagea did.
In the end I found a nice one owner, 2003 Legacy GT-B Etune Wagon in metallic grey with a 5-speed manual transmission. It has 120k KM on it and 2 years of shaken, and the timing belt has been changed and there are copies of maintenace records from the original owner.
I'm picking it up in Tokyo in 5 days, so I'm super excited. Nice to be part of the forum.
