New to the forums, time to show off the wagon.

So after my car hit 200k this winter, I wanted to do something fun with it. I decided I wanted to repaint my car and I jokingly mentioned using truck bed liner...long story short I ended up in a bet with a friend of mine saying it would never happen. It happened.

Here's some bad cell phone shots

and here's a video I made while painting, just messing around

Wow.... I'v seen a few legacies bed-liner-ed but non who have filmed it.

Very well done and your editing skills with the video is great. Oh btw how long did it take for the bedliner stuff to come off your foot :-D

Lovin' the grizzly grip can't wait to see more.

how much did you use?

haha thanks and the stuff took a few days to rub off my feet. A lot of barefoot walking on the driveway helped.

TGX, I ordered two 4x6 Truck bed kits ( each had 1 Gallon and 1 quart Grizzly Grip, 1 bottle of UV plus, & two 4" rollers) I only did two coats and still have the 2 quart bottles left for touch ups and any bare spots I missed. The whole thing took less than 24 hrs. Sanded and prepped at night and then the next day I had to wait for the paint to be delivered so I taped the car up alone and painted it with a friend. If I had 3 people the whole time, I feel like it could have been done much quicker. Also each kit was $88 so it was much cheaper to do it myself then what some places would have charged

At the moment I just dropped her off at my mechanic and I'm having the stock rims powder coated (for cheap!) and new tires put on.

I have a list growing of upgrades I want to do so I'll update as time goes on.

hah thanks and yea I love the look.

Next upgrades are going to be headlights and a roof cage. Once I have the cage I'm going to redo my headliner as well as install some roof lights. (just easier to wire them with the headliner down)

better pics are coming.

Update.

Finally some better photos on a nice rainy afternoon. I put in some plaid in earlier this summer on the panels as well as installed a sub in the back. Also I'm having the hatch bar powder coated to match the rims. The guy who did my wheels said he would do it for free. cant beat that.

wow! really digging the plaid door panels! great job on those! Did you do all the sewing yourself on them.. or was the fabric 'cross hatched' like that when you bought it? VERY cool!

originally I was going to go with this

but the fabric store was limited with camos so I ended up with plaid.

Nah nothing at the moment. I got some mudflaps but two problems arose while trying to install. #1 they don't fit behind the front tires and #2 when I tried to remove the stock mud flaps (to see if they would fit without them on), the screws holding them on are a pain in the ass. The plastic clip that's suppose to hold the nut allows the screw to spin freely and I haven't been able to loosen it. The next purchase will either be a lift of some sort or a roof cage, maybe some new wiper arms, the rear one sags a bit.

I love this thing! What size tires are those?

Heitz
05-24-2011, 06:12 PM
Haha thanks. Cleaning can be annoying but not more than having to wax and such.

I don't do that much off roading, it's more of having a reliable car that can take a few dings and scratches. I can key the side of the car no problem, as I show people who ask about it haha.

The tires are Grabber AT2 (225 70R 15). It rubs at full lock left on a hard turn like uphill into a driveway but besides that there's no real issue with the size.
