VSS issues

My subaru is a 97 Legacy wagon brighton with no ABS 5 speed manual and the ej22. Currently in limp mode with the CEL for P0500 Vehicle Speed Sensor A and
P1507 idle control system fault. Guessing these two are related.

I have bought the VSS from a fellow SLI member a while ago but have not been driving the subaru at all. With fall coming I want to get the subaru upto snuff. The problem is I cannot for the life of me find the location of these sensors. Can somebody tell or better yet post a picture of both these VSS sensors on the 5MT? Everything I have ran across so far has been for the automatic. Any help is greatly appreciated.

vss on the 5mt is on the right side. if you look at the right rear of the engine and fallow the tranny side back you will see it. subaru 5mt is a 3 section case. it is in the first section that connects to the engine. in the picture below you and see the red gear(bottom case in picture) that is your vss gear. so picture that on the outside and there is you vss.
