what's your favorite mod?

hey guys, i got a good conversation starter

whats everyones favorite mod or change they've made to their ride. has it ever saved your ass, or been come in handy for anything in particular?

i know my mod (hasnt been completely yet) and im not showing it till its done is going to be something pretty unique that i bet no one can guess, but i digress..

we have this thread over in a 4x4 forum and youd be surprised what theyve come up with

so lets hear it, whatcha got, from the subtle to the crazy lol :grin:

I think your thread title should have been "whats your favorite mod?".

Anyway, for me, it has to be a tie between tinting and lowering the car just enough to make it look like "super stock".

JDM projector headlights. The stock headlights were dangerously bad. Once I installed the JDMs it was like a whole different world, I could actually see at night. Definitely the best thing I did to my BD.

damn i cant decide what one i like more. cams, wheels, 4/2pots, exhaust, coilovers, swaybars/endlinks, or the 05 outback drivetrain. hmmm. probly the cams. the car came alive with them.

It'd be close between my suspension/wheels/tires and the 5MT swap. Both made the car so much more fun to drive.

I've got too many to list, so i'll narrow it down to my top 3.

1: Single turbo/STi conversion. Twin turbo is a sack of sh!t, it's good for mums, and people who never leave town or go on the motorway, but out in the real world it falls to bits, especially on the twisty roads i love so much. Converting to single turbo is the single greatest mod i have done to my car, completely changed it's personality, and made it SO much more drivable on twisty roads

2: STi steering rack + short shifter. Getting rid of the over easy 3 turns lock to lock, in favour of 2.75 turns lock to lock, with allot less power assistance has improved drivability even more, it makes attacking the tight twisties SO much nicer. The STi short shifter compliments it perfectly, with it's short and harder throw. I'm never owning a subaru that doesn't have an STi rack and shifter ever again!

3: STi handling components, Alloy arms, strut braces, shocks and springs. This is obviously self explanatory.

In my old BD it had to be my full exhaust, Headers, PIPE, PIPE, Glass Pack, PIPE, Muffler. I love how she sounded :smt010
